This ThemeIsle review is the beginning of a new series in which I’ll review many of the top WordPress theme developers, as well as their themes and plugins. I also wanted to share the only available ThemeIsle coupon code available at the moment, and it’s a big one; it lands you a whopping 20% ThemeIsle discount for the fastest few who get it.
First, go to ThemeIsle here, then enter the ThemeIsle coupon code: NEWPIRATE20 for a cool 20% discount today. The code might have expired if you wait too long (I’ve been there and done that) so don’t make that mistake.
There’s a lot of reason why I really like this team and why I chose to become affiliated with them.
Why This ThemeIsle Review
Since leaving the corporate world behind in 2010 I’ve been working from my home office, and during that time I’ve been engaged in virtually every facet of internet marketing and website development. I’ve built and sold a lot of websites for myself and clients. And I’ve used a lot of WordPress themes and plugins.
During the past few years I’ve come to know ThemeIsle for their top rated WordPress themes which offer a great blend of SEO and user experience, and loads of aesthetic beauty. It was an easy choice to decide to review ThemeIsle themes and plugins.
In fact, Zerif Lite, their wildly popular free theme, is the #1 free One-Page WordPress theme.
ThemeIsle is also one of the very few WordPress theme developers who can boast that they’ve contributed over 35 free themes to the WordPress repository. When a company gives so freely and shows obvious concern about the community then it’s really easy for me to get behind them.
These guys have been featured on Forbes, WPbeginner, Smashing Magazine, and you’ll find a ThemeIsle review on many, many more sites.
I really like that ThemeIsle is made up of people who actually build their themes as if they’re going to use it themselves (which they do, entrepreneurs never rest!). So I feel pretty confident that I’m getting a well designed and coded theme that’s fully tested and analyzed.
ThemeIsle was born in concept on an actual island back in 2012! They were literally inspired while staying on the island for a month, to create WordPress themes that don’t look decades old, and which work for people like us who actually make our living on the backs of WordPress themes.
Another one of the things which stands out about the team behind ThemeIsle is that they’re always present and ready to help with whatever problem you might encounter. Of course premium members get quicker and more in-depth support, but that’s the standard in this industry.
ThemeIsle Review – The Team
Here’s a photo of the crew behind ThemeIsle, includingClick the image to read more about them.
I’ve researched a wide variety of sources and spoken with my colleagues in the industry, and most seem to agree that the support and reputation from the team at ThemeIsle is universally well-respected and reviewed.
Every developer in the WordPress repository has some negative reviews which are deserved, but often comments are from people who are either ill-informed or who expect premium support from a free WordPress theme.
For example, I saw some ThemeIsle reviewers leaving comments on a “free” WordPress theme page, for the premium ThemeIsle Zerif Pro theme which has its own support channels, and not the WordPress.org site, so those users didn’t get the support they were expecting.
But in all fairness to users, there are some complaints which weren’t answered in a timely manner, but in many of those cases someone from ThemeIsle stepped up and apologized.
Still, with over 3,000 downloads per day these guys are maintaining a very respectable 4.5 Stars on their free Zerif Lite theme, so yea, these guys are good.
ThemeIsle isn’t perfect nor without flaw. But truthfully it’s a fool’s game to chase perfection because it doesn’t exist. In 2016 ThemeIsle’s Zerif Lite, the wildly popular free theme, was briefly suspended from the WordPress repository because one of their themes wasn’t 100% compliant.
I see both sides of the issue here. On the one hand, developers need to make every effort to comply with repository best practices and rules. On the other hand, Zerif Lite had 300,000 users (WOW!) who would’ve been adversely affected had they accommodated the rule changes.
So as a user, would you like to see a developer stand by your side so your sites aren’t broken, or that the developer caves in to and follows minor rule changes imposed by someone else?
Exactly, and ThemeIsle stood by their customers all the way; the issue has long since been addressed.
New users don’t have to worry about anything, though, because you’ll be able to put ThemeIsle to the test… they offer a no questions asked 30 day money back guarantee, so fire up your WordPress site and give one of their themes or plugins a try. I really like the ThemeIsle Companion plugin and I’ll talk about it soon.
